Bright lights for brighter futures
For 43 years Tim Horton Children’s Foundation has been supporting children from low-income families to provide programs to change the way young people think about themselves and the opportunities that exist for them. The foundation honours Tim Horton’s love for children and his desire to help those less fortunate. This year marked the 14th annual Tim Horton Children’s Foundation Black Tie Gala and largest to date.
As much as the event is to raise funds for the foundation’s programs, it is about raising awareness to what the foundation does for the community and families it supports. What better way of creating awareness than creating an event that truly engages the audience. We are proud to support the event and our partnership with Tim Hortons by providing our audiovisual and event technology services to help them reach their goals. Bringing innovation together with one of North America’s largest and growing restaurant brands, the reception featured an interactive virtual reality component that had attendees fully immersed in the brand messaging and event experience.
From the decor to the performances the event took attendees through a day at camp. The show opened with a beautiful performance from a young singer timed perfectly with an atmospheric sunrise, and throughout the evening attendees would experience high noon then nighttime with the evolving decor elements.
MC’d by CBC’s Ann-Marie Mediwake the audience heard from speakers throughout the night, some board members, but also individuals who had personally benefitted from all the foundation’s work. The event exceeded its fundraising goals by raising over $175,000 for the foundation.
